PostText Lambda
The PostText Lambda is named after the Amazon Lex API PostText which is used to turn a natural language query into an intent and slots.
This Lambda sits behind APIGateway and will receive messages from the chat widget and will call the PostText API if a natural language query needs to be translated to an intent or pass it straight to the runtime lambda.
When it calls the PostText API, it is Lex that then calls the App Lambda and the response is returned in the response to the PostText API call.
Source Code
You can setup your own PostText Lambda as part of your project and deployment process. Alternatively you can upload to your own Lambda with the archive here, this same archive is used by some of our deployment scripts.
Make sure you add the following dependencies to your package.json
:
"dependencies": {
"@xapp/stentor-lex-lib": "1.45.32",
"stentor-constants": "1.57.95",
"stentor-interaction-model": "1.57.95",
"stentor-locales": "1.57.95",
"stentor-models": "1.57.95",
"stentor-request": "1.57.95",
"stentor-utils": "1.57.95"
}
Then for the handler of the Lambda:
import {
TranslateLexPostTextResponse,
TranslateLexV2PostTextResponse,
TranslateToLexPostTextRequest,
TranslateToLexV2PostTextRequest
} from "@xapp/stentor-lex-lib";
import { Lambda, LexRuntime, LexRuntimeV2 } from "aws-sdk";
import { ActiveContext, Request, Response } from "stentor-models";

Common Errors in PostText
Post Text V2 Response does not include a content or contentType. Can not translate.
When using Lex V2, this occurs when your runtime did not return any responses. You have an unresolved intent at some point in your application.
